| Market Update Q1 2010 |
The first half of 2010 has shown more positive signs when compared to 2009. The rate of decline has rapidly reduced if not stopped and in some markets there is a small but notable pick up. Whilst permanent jobs are still in short supply there is an increase, albeit small. The number of contract positions has also shown a small increase as has the amount of contracts that have been extended
Having taken soundings from a wide range of organisations about their hiring plans for the rest of the year the outlook is stable with some possible increase in headcount pending a positive international business climate.
This was particularly true for European HQ's and for those whose income is derived outside of Ireland especially those with a foothold in Far Eastern markets
